hm, well, after thinking a bit deeper about this you're right
but it would be at least a nice little 'feature' ;)
#320 is still free and would be nice to have in some way for
some features.

yes, ok, agreed, and it can be dangerous too (aol.com has only
one level of hosts)

*sorry* :-)

well, sure a service could do it (but there is already a webinterface
who is nearly like this), and people wont you use it (I think).

But it also reduces/traffic memory usage of the ircd, so it would
be kinda nice. A intresting thing I saw lately on one server is
that I could do /STATS I (huge list came) without trouble, but
/LIST gave me a Dead Socket. There's something wrong with /LIST
and I'm looking forward to try this search* stuff if I find time.

On the other hand, services, who have already been written should
release as free software (since it uses the ircd which is gpl)
and patches FL4/CRxy/Nl1 should be placed someone at ftp.irc.org
so that these patches can be checked out and maybe added one day
to the real ircd.

Greets,
