The point I made was that V:lines are useless because it is very easy to
change the version number in a server, therefore defeating the
purpose.  If the server number is changed, the server can still be
connected and may break (who knows?) but at least it still defeated the
V:lines to connect.  The only thing they do is get the admin's attention
to change something, but does not require an upgrade to take place.  The
person who coded them should use the conf file space they take for
something that actually has a purpose and stop cluttering the code to make
yet another worthless addition.
