Hi
I'm new to unix. I have installed FreeBsd
and have problem with ircd.
I tryed to setup a irc server for me and
my friends at our local network.
I did my best to solve this problem on my own
but was not able to.
I downloaded tke ircd package from freebsd.org
and installed it.
All went nice. I modified the ircd.conf and
run the ircd.
But it doesn't accept any clients from other
computers(mirc, win98).
At the console I get messages like this:
Dec 16 19:52:54 Buro
/usr/local/sbin/ircd[307]: Sun Dec 16 19:51:24 2001 ( unknown
):<none>@0:0:0:0:0:ffff:200.200.200.10 [unknown] a
and then:
Dec 16 19:54:25
Buro /usr/local/sbin/ircd[307]: Sun Dec 16 19:52:55 2001 ( Timeout

Ip address set at my computer that runs
ircd is 200.200.200.20
Ip address at the computer that wanted to
connect to my computer is 200.200.200.10
And when I try to run irc from the console
like this: <irc nick buro> it works.
But when I run it like this:<irc nick
200.200.200.20> it says:
Address family not supported by protocol
family
If problem is in my configuration of freebsd
please tell me where to correct it.
