Hi, Question about ircd:

We are currently developing a website 'portal' and will be deciding on adding a
chat system to it.  So far, were sticking to irc as our main server protocol and
I just have a few question if somebody would like to help:

how many users would say a Sun eStation 450 with a T3 (or OC3, not sure yet) be
able to carry, 5000 ?

and what's the security issues dealing with ircd ?

no other questions at the moment, Im not sure as well if this is the right
mailing list and if its not could you point me in the right direction, and are
there any other sites that deal with irc administration ?
