Since the nick it changed to would be unique, and would start with a
number, they would not be able to collide it. I like the idea Beeth had
(http://akson.sgh.waw.pl/~chopin/uniqueID.txt). If this would be
implemented, it would not be easy to collide I would say :)

Also, I would also like to comment that it is easy to say "Create a new
channel" etc. Sure, it is the only solution, but for a lot of "ordinary"
users, who are not as keen on how to use irc as we are, a takeover would
mean they lost contact with a lot of friends. So, we could say that if we
implemented uniqueID and used ! channels, they would be almost impossible
to take, but it would get very confusing for users unless the clients were
updated to do this transparently.
