but the great advantage is that you can place wide-ranging bans to include  
all abusers and then make some exceptions for banned users by inviting  
them. And ban-evading shouldn't be a big problem since you can still kick  
an evader as soon as he (re)starts to make trouble... you don't have to do  
this automatically.
