While I'm getting useful answers... ;) I keep hearing about new RFC. I
think I've even seen an URL or something brandied out before. Any details
on this? Where can I find what's ready, and where is it discussed, or is
someone just coming up with it out of their own head? ;)

I used to be head (ircd) coder at DALnet for a year, but after several bad
experiences I'm out of there for good now. I still have interest in ircd
specifically and chat-systems generally, would like to possily put some of
my knowledge into use, especially areas where it doesn't benefit any
single network and standardization etc...
