Yes 4 bytes (16 for IPv6) is an excellent idea IMO, however the server to server connection woulds have to ensure that no server can have the same IP address...Currently this does not happen as the servers can be called anything they want, and it is quite possible to have 2 private networks on opposing sides of the world with the same IP address, as the IP's are local addresses ... classic example would be anyone using Masqarading at their perimeter/ or binding the server to 127.0.0.1 for primary address, and named interfaces to talk to the world....(am I making sense or talking rubbish?) -- Yours Matthew =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= OKAY!!
