I am pleased to announce version 2.10.2 of the IRC Software. Support for IPv6 available in release 2.9.5+IPv6 has been integrated in this version making it the first of the 2.10 serie to be able to run on IPv6 systems. While this version brings no new feature, it fixes many bugs present in the previous releases. In particular users will notice that the channel modes 'a' and 'r' can now be set on !channels. Admins will be happy to know that several rarely occuring bugs present in the compressed link code have been fixed. A 2.10 problem causing link connections to be slow has been identified and resolved. The internal resolver code was brought up to date with BIND version 4.9.7-REL source. Finally, it is to be noted that the anti open SOCKS detection has been significantly improved, will detect v4 relays (which cover most v5 relays as they are usually backward compatible), and will no longer report closed relays as open. The complete and detailed list of changes is held in ChangeLog. Discussion about this software is welcome in ircd-users@xxxxxxx mailing list. If you are interested, subscribe by sending "subscribe ircd-users" in the body of a mail to majordomo@xxxxxxx Bugs should be reported to ircd-bugs@xxxxxxx, see the INSTALL file for details.
